Antalya City Center is an enchanting destination known as the pearl of the Mediterranean with its 2,200 years of history. Located just 15 km from Antalya Airport, the city center has a unique atmosphere that blends the grandeur of ancient times with the vibrancy of modern life. Founded by Pergamon King Attalos II in the 2nd century BC, Kaleiçi is an open-air museum bearing traces of Roman, Byzantine, Seljuk, and Ottoman civilizations.
The heart of Kaleiçi, Hadrian's Gate, is a magnificent triumphal arch built in 130 AD to commemorate Roman Emperor Hadrian's visit to the city. This monumental entrance with three arches is one of the best-preserved structures from the ancient Pamphylian period. Entering through the gate, narrow cobblestone streets, historic Ottoman mansions, boutique hotels, and authentic cafes welcome you.
Antalya's symbol, Yivli Minare (Fluted Minaret), was built in the 13th century during Seljuk Sultan Alaeddin Keykubad's reign. The mosque and madrasa complex next to this 38-meter-high minaret is one of the finest examples of Seljuk architecture. The nearby Clock Tower was built in 1901 during the Ottoman period.
The city's largest green space, Karaalioğlu Park, is a peaceful oasis hosting 54 different bird species, filled with pine and palm trees. Hıdırlık Tower inside the park is a Roman structure from the 2nd century AD. The view of the Marina offers magnificent photo frames at sunset.
